Over the years we’ve noticed that many first-time visitors ask similar questions before they stop in. Here are a few of the most common ones.
Do I have to be 18 years old to enter?
Yes. Guests must be at least 18 years old to enter The Sussex Saloon on their own. EXCEPTION: Kids under 18 are WELCOME as long as you are with your legal guardian!
Can someone under 18 visit?
Absolutely. Guests under 18 are welcome when accompanied by a legal guardian. Many families enjoy dinner, dessert, and a few games of pool together.
What is the drinking age?
As required by New Jersey law, guests must be 21 years of age or older to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages.
Are there any 21+ nights?
Yes. Certain late-night events, special entertainment, or featured performances may be 21 and over only. We recommend checking our event calendar before visiting if you’re planning to attend a specific event. Most nights it’s 18 to get in unless with your legal guardian, then under 18 is ok.
How many pool tables do you have?
The Sussex Saloon features seven well-maintained pool tables available for casual play and organized league nights.
Do you have pool leagues?
Yes. We proudly host Wednesday night pool leagues, bringing together players from throughout Sussex County in a friendly and welcoming environment. Currently we are offering APA 9 ball league and TAP 10 ball leagues. 7-13-26 More coming!
Do I need to be an experienced player?
Not at all.
Some of our guests have been playing for decades, while others are holding a cue for the very first time. Whether you’re looking to improve your game or simply enjoy a few casual games with friends, everyone is welcome.

Do you serve coffee?
Yes.
We’re proud to serve espresso from our premium espresso machine imported from Portugal, making The Sussex Saloon a great stop whether you’re looking for dinner, dessert, or simply a quality cup of espresso, cappuccino, latte, or espresso martini!
Do you have live entertainment?
Throughout the year we feature live bands, local musicians, DJ nights, and Open Mic events where singers, musicians, comedians, poets, storytellers, and first-time performers share the stage.
Every event brings a different energy, giving guests another reason to come back.
Is there something to do even if I don’t play pool?
Definitely.
Many guests visit simply for dinner, to watch sports, listen to live music, play darts, chess, and other board games, enjoy dessert, meet friends, or relax after work.
Pool is an important part of who we are, but it’s only one part of the overall experience.
